Bumblebee Energy Scotland Ltd are accredited MCS, RECC Napit & Trustmark, and we are suppliers and installers of renewable energy systems including ground and air source heat pumps and solar photovoltaics, Battery storage. The team at Bumblebee Energy are a dynamic and diverse group with over 50 years of experience working within the renewable industry, so you know that you are in good hands.
We repair and service Ground Source, Air Source and exhaust air heat pumps, such as Danfoss, Dimplex, Mitsubishi, NIBE Pico Energy, IVT, Bosch, Samsung, we can repair and service almost any make and model.

There are a number of good reasons for having your heat pump serviced on a regular basis:
- Prevent costly repairs
- Ensure efficiency is maintained throughout the life of the system
- Check the integrity and safety of system components
- Tweak operational settings to meet change in comfort requirements
- Usually a requirement of the manufacturer’s warranty conditions
- Can be a requirement of your home insurance
- A recommendation by Ofgem for Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) eligible systems
We service domestic heat pumps and have maintenance contracts in place for commercial and domestic installations, and we currently carry out annual servicing and support to over 1000 heat pumps in the UK on a yearly basis.

To keep systems running at optimum efficiency, we recommend that heat pumps are serviced on an annual basis to prevent costly breakdowns.
Annual Service
An annual service of a heat pump system will typically include the following:
- Check operation of all components
- Check sensors and cables
- Test safety devices
- Clean filters
- Inspect & report on pipework
- Adjust settings to customer’s requirements
- Check fluid levels if glycol is being used or inhibitor
- Check integrity & safety of electrical connections
- Unvented hot water cylinder safety check
- Check outdoor unit or indoor heat pump if ground source
- Inhibitor levels or glycol levels depending on system design

WHAT’S EXCLUDED
- Removing sludge or scale from the heating system or repairing the damage it causes to the heat pump and associated equipment
- Faults caused by someone else you used for repairs, design faults or accidental damage. We will fix these for you, but you’ll need to pay for the parts and labour as this will not be covered by the warranty insurance
- Repairing or replacing your central heating system or underfloor manifolds and associated equipment
- Maintenance work required to Keep system in good working order
- A guaranteed response time to call-outs; if you require emergency breakdown cover you should source this from a local heating firm or an alternative provider

Hive Nectar For your Solar Pv and battery storage Systems
Unlike other heat pump company’s, we like to make life simple
- Where you live will not affect the price of the product, and there are no locations we are unable to offer servicing or servicing plans, but some locations may have longer than standard response times due to location
- Hive Servicing Plans must be purchased annually but can be paid for monthly by direct debit,
- The Hive Queen Bee Plan is subject to an inspection fee of £49.00 to make sure the system has no pre-existing faults and issues prior to us taking it on the all-inclusive parts and labour plan subject to the system passing inspection
- Hive Service plans must be purchased by yearly contract but can be paid for monthly by direct debit,
- We will take on any make heat pump on to the Hive Care package as long as it is less than 15 years old
- We do not look at callout history when you renew or take out a Hive Care plan.
- All parts supplied carry an industry beating 4-year warranty on them so if something goes wrong with them, they would be replaced free of charge
- Full Terms & Conditions will be sent out once you have signed up to a care plan.
